Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City, April 25, 2025 – TotalEnergies ENEOS commences the installation of a nearly 28 megawatt-peak (MWp) rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system at global technology leader, Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex factory. Located at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, this project is TotalEnergies ENEOS’ largest rooftop solar project in the country.
Under the 20-year Power Purchase Agreement, TotalEnergies ENEOS will fully invest in, install, operate and maintain over 45,000 solar PV modules. Upon installation completion, the project is expected to generate over 40,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity annually, powering approximately 26% of Samsung Electronics’ onsite operations and avoiding more than 26,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year.
By partnering with TotalEnergies ENEOS for its green electricity supply, the global technology leader advances its RE100 commitment – a global initiative that brings together businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity – and sustainability roadmap. This collaboration supports Samsung’s use of green electricity for its production, while fostering environmental awareness among employees and partners, creating a positive impact in the local community.
Ingrid JAUMAIN, Zone Director for TotalEnergies Distributed Generation Asia Pacific, acting for TotalEnergies ENEOS, joined by ChoonKi KWON, President of Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex, and Vo Van Hoan, Deputy Chairman of the People Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, convened to receive the Investment Registration Certificate (IRC) awarded to TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Projects Vietnam Project Co. Ltd, the investor in this project. This significant step forward in industrial decarbonization has been long anticipated by both parties and the People Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, as it aligns with Vietnam’s sustainable development goals.
Choonki KWON, President of Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex said: “We do not consider this as just an energy project. This is the beginning of a comprehensive transformation phase, where technology serves not only operational efficiency, but also the sustainable development of people and society.”
Alexandru BUZATU, Director of TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Pacific said: “We are pleased to be Samsung’s green energy partner in Vietnam. Leveraging TotalEnergies extensive global expertise, TotalEnergies ENEOS is ready to support Samsung’s power demands while accelerating their clean energy transition in Southeast Asia.”
