SOUTH COTABATO, Philippines, May 26, 2022 – TotalEnergies has completed a solar photovoltaic (PV) rooftop installation for Alliance Select Foods International Inc. (ASFII), a leading seafood company in Philippines, to power the needs of its facility with renewable energy.

With over 1400 of panels installed at Alliance Select Foods’ manufacturing site, the solar power system has a total capacity of 600 kilowatt-peak (kWp), expected to generate approximately 800 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity each year and reduce carbon emissions by over 450 tons annually, equivalent to taking more than 90 cars off the road.

In addition to reducing the carbon footprint, Alliance Select Foods will be able to decrease its energy costs with clean energy produced by system for 20 years without any upfront investments.

ASFII is a homegrown international seafood company that holds strong sustainability-focused core values. ASFII is internationally regarded as a producer of high-quality canned tuna made from select and sustainably sourced ingredients. This solarisation project will, hence, contribute to the sustainable development practices and responsible operations carried out by Alliance Select Foods.

Raymond K.H. See, President and CEO of Alliance Select Foods, Philippines said, “True to our goal of being a sustainable company, we are elated that our General Santos manufacturing plant is now powered with renewable energy.  With this progress, our Company will lessen our carbon footprint and can be proud to say that we are one with other sustainable companies in continuously fighting climate change for our future generations.

Gavin Adda, Head of TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation Asia, said, “As the leading provider of solar energy in the region, we are honoured to offer Alliance Select Foods solar solutions that support and enable its commitment to sustainability and driving positive change in the industry. TotalEnergies looks forward to helping more commercial and industrial customers such as Alliance Select Foods in reducing their carbon emissions with clean solar power.”
